A little about us…

Ingrained Nutrition is a dietetics company located in central Wagga Wagga founded by owner and Dietitian Peta Cullis in 2009. We now comprise four Dietitians with over 20 years combined experiences and a shared commitment to helping our clients to meet their health and nutrition goals.

We specialise in gastrointestinal conditions, paediatric nutrition, chronic disease management, food allergies and intolerances and eating disorders. Our services extend to aged care facilities as well as medical centres and childcare providers in Wagga and throughout the Riverina.

Peta Cullis

Peta has been practising as a Dietitian for 13 years, born and bred in Wagga Wagga and has worked across a range of different industries in aged care, community home visits, nutrigenomics and private practice starting her own dietetics practice in 2009. Peta has enjoyed a wide variety of roles and particularly loved supporting people suffering with common chronic conditions such as diabetes, high cholesterol and weight management during her early career.

Peta begun building on her skills and experience supporting families and kids with disordered, fussy eating and allergies/intolerances completing additional training as an SOS Expert Dietitian and completed her Graduate Certificate in Paediatrics and Adolescence in 2016. She now supports Dietitians across the country extending her wealth of knowledge to new graduate Dietitians within social media platforms and consultancy.

Peta is a media expert, a published author and Invited speaker at Conferences and Universities across the country.  She prides herself on bringing her years of experience working in the medical field and training dietitians and associated medical professions to ensure she FIXES her clients  symptoms and nutritional challenges, whilst collaborating with the wider medical community. Thinking outside the box and looking at the bigger picture, she is able to collaborate and advise her clients towards long lasting health and well-being.

In her spare time Peta loves playing with her 4 miniature goats, 11 chickens and her 6 year old fun loving foodie.

Caitlin Scane

Caitlin is a Wagga local and has been working as a private practice dietitian in Wagga Wagga for over 9 years.
Caitlin has been the leading force in the Ingrained Nutrition team in the last 5 years, bringing her experience, supportive approach and accumulated knowledge of nutrition and applying this to real-life situations.

Her specialised areas of nutrition are eating disorders, paediatrics and gastrointestinal health having completed additional studies in 2017, as aFODMAP Accredited Dietitian and in 2022 as a Credentialed Eating Disorder Dietitian. Caitlin has had years of experience working with clients of all ages and genders with all types of eating disorders as well as with clients to investigate and manage irritable bowels and food intolerances.

As a capable mum and Dietitian, raising 2 young girls, Caitlin can also empathise with the challenges of feeding children, and she enjoys helping both children and parents to confidently tackle fussy eating and problem feeding. She loves to work with families to make mealtimes easier at the same time as optimising their nutritional health and wellbeing.

Jessica Plater

Jess moved to Wagga Wagga in 2023 from the Central Coast of New South Wales to join Ingrained Nutrition, having completed her studies in Newcastle. 

Jess is a country girl at heart with most of her extended family living in surrounding farming communities in the Murrumbidgee. Jess has passion for rural healthcare and aspired to work in the country, with the dream of returning to her roots and working as a dietitian one she completed her studies.

Jess looks forward to helping individuals with any food or nutrition related health concern and working together with them and their unique barriers that they may face towards a positive health outcome. 

Jess enjoys working with older people suffering with appetite loss or a lack of desire to eat, as well as those with metabolic and associated chronic conditions such as Diabetes, weight challenges and heart conditions. 

In her spare time she loves to spend time with family and running.

Mel Fuller

Mel joined the Ingrained Nutrition team in September 2022. Having originated from Bairnsdale in Victoria, Mel moved to Wagga Wagga in 2012 to study Dietetics at Charles Sturt University, and since then has had a diverse career working across Murrumbidgee area for the past 9 years. She has worked in health promotion, preventative health and childhood nutrition supporting children as part of the Healthy Harold Team for the last 5 years.

Mel learnt a lot during this time seeing the significant impact of dietary and lifestyle changes can have on health and is passionate about supporting the regional community to reach its goals.

Mel is also a qualified fitness instructor and loves to work her muscles on the weekends as she is a keen home renovator. You will often see her at the Osbourne Football and Netball club supporting the tigers.
