Individual & Couple Consultations

Everyone who comes to see us has a different goal and nutrition story. The difference between seeing an accredited practising Dietitian and following an online program or purchased meal plan is that we are experts at offering individualised nutritional advice that suits your lifestyle and specific goals. We are well practised at seeing clients individually or as couples for a wide range of chronic diseases such as:

  • Diabetes
  • Weight management
  • Heart disease
  • Coeliac disease
  • Eating disorders
  • Irritable bowel and inflammatory bowel conditions

When you see a one of our Dietitians, we will take a detailed history of your diet and lifestyle from who does the cooking to managing nutritional needs for shift workers. This allows us to provide you with nutritional recommendations that are individualised, not one-size-fits-all and create nutrition plans that are specific to obtaining positive results based on your goal, whether that be reduced blood glucose and cholesterol levels or gut symptom improvement. We keep in close communication with your GP and other health professionals to ensure your whole medical team are across your management plan to give you as much support as possible. We will also maintain close follow up with you regularly to help keep you on track and provide ongoing assistance as necessary.

Our Dietitians are all lovers of various sports and work closely with you to meet your performance goals, allowing you to reach your full potential for your chosen sport or fitness goal through the following:

  • Pre- and post-competition nutrition advice and meal plans
  • Write muscle gain and weight loss plans including body composition measurements
  • Individual advice on the use of supplements

Food Allergies & Intolerances

Our Dietitians have undergone additional training in the area of food allergies and intolerances including the dietary management of irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel conditions.

We work with you to diagnose food intolerances and symptom triggers, assist you in managing to remove these from your diet long term while still meeting your nutritional needs and in some circumstances we can help you increase your tolerance to a food.

We love working with children in our practice and know as parents how difficult it can be managing food allergies in the home and childcare settings. We are apt at providing up to date product knowledge to help you manage an allergy or intolerance long term.

It can be helpful to bring a food diary or record along to your appointment, particularly if you suspect you have a food allergy or are experiencing any kind of gut symptoms.

Paediatric Nutrition

As parents and Dietitians, we have the skills and experience in raising children and have translated that with our clinical knowledge to real world situations, working with children of all ages for a variety of reasons.

We are particularly well-versed in the areas of fussy and problem eating from breastfeeding bubs to school-aged children with delays in eating, extreme to moderate food refusal and GI/skin/mood issues associated with food intolerances and/or allergies as well as failure to thrive and growth delays.

We are excited to continue to extend our services to child-care and after school care services providing informative nutrition presentations to childcare workers, parents and children on the importance of healthy eating and tips for fussy eaters.

Aged Care

At Ingrained Nutrition, our Dietitians provide a variety of aged-care services including a on-one-one Dietitian assessment for residential aged care facilities to review residents needing ongoing Dietitian input.

Common reasons why a Dietitian may need to see a resident in aged care can include conditions such as malnutrition; loss of appetite; unintentional weight loss to name just a few. This service includes malnutrition screening; resident assessment and nutrition intervention; prescription of oral nutrition supplements where required and working with care and kitchen staff to help provide the best possible nutritional care to all residents.

We also provide nutritional presentations for residents and families on a variety of topics such as the importance of healthy eating, tips for eating with a poor appetite, nutrients at risk in older ages. In addition to this we provide staff in-service education and food demonstrations on topics such as advice for feeding for residents with dementia, food fortifications, correct preparation of oral nutrition supplements, nutrition for would healing, food hygiene and safety, importance of good nutrition in older age.

Comprehensive seasonal menu reviews are another vital part of our service in aged care, including

  • Nutrient analysis
  • Site visits
  • Plate wastage review
  • Resident satisfaction surveys
  • Recipe analysis and review in accordance with NSW aged care standards and Australian Dietary Guidelines
